Back in the Saddle Again

Well, here we are for another round of quality education.

Honors Physics and Physics B and F reviewed the syllabus, course expectations, lab and homework procedures and got textbooks. Tomorrow, Honors Physics and Physics B will embark on a review of basic skills for science, such as the scientific method and the metric system. Physics G will conduct a lab investigation that will introduce students to the Vernier probeware system.

Physical Science received their class materials/books, and since this was long block for them, began an investigation to learn the Vernier probeware system. Students used a force sensor to evaluate the relationship between weight and number of pennies in a cup. It was not expected that students would finish the lab, but every group got quite far in the lab procedure. Tomorrow, that lab will be completed and we will, hopefully, have time to have a discussion about the importance of mathematical relationships, such as a linear relationship, to understanding science.

Homework

Honors Physics: Practice 1A and the 1.2 Section Review
Physics B: Practice 1A
Physical Science: None
Physics F: Read lab protocol sheet and Vernier handout
